CHEROKEE COUNTY, SC : Crash causes delays for drivers on I-85 in Cherokee Co. on Tuesday, 14th May 2024

Cherokee County Emergency Management said crews are working to clean up a crash that has caused issues for drivers along I-85 near mile marker 96.
Officials said the crash happened around 12:24 p.m. near the Cherokee Creek bridge and involved two trucks and the concrete center barrier separating the northbound and southbound lanes.
Officials explained that they had to get one of the trucks off the concrete barrier and repair the barrier before they could reopen any part of I-85. They added that they also had to clean up a spill that mostly involved oil from the motor and transmission of the truck on the concrete barrier.
Officials confirmed that the other truck involved in the crash was able to move off the road following the collision.
According to officials, both directions of I-85 reopened Tuesday night.
