Three people suffered serious injuries in a crash involving a cattle truck in Saline County. It happened a little after 8 p.m. Thursday on northbound I-135, near the interchange at Interstate 70, near Salina.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said a 2003 GMC Sonoma and a cattle truck were traveling north on I-135 when the GMC “started to exit onto I-70 when veering back onto I-135 into the driving lane.”

The KHP said the GMC and the cattle truck “collided with side swiping.”

Following the crash, an effort to wrangle cattle on the highway halted traffic for a few hours. The KHP said the GMC’s driver, a 17-year-old girl from Beverly, Kansas suffered injuries in the crash, as did a 66-year-old man driving the cattle truck and a 66-year-old woman who was a passenger in the truck. Both are from Wisconsin, the KHP report said.
