LENAWEE COUNTY, MI : One killed in crash involving motorcycle car in Lenawee County on Sunday, 2nd June 2024
One person was killed and another sustained life-threatening injuries following a crash involving a motorcycle and car Sunday in Lenawee County.
Deputies responded to the scene shortly before 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of West Carleton Road and Benner Highway, located southwest of Adrian in Dover Township.Joseph Lee Webb, 54, from Newport and his 50-year-old wife were on a motorcycle heading eastbound on West Carleton Road near the intersection when a car driving in the opposite direction attempted to turn onto Benner Highway, according to Lenawee County Sheriff Troy Bevier.
The car, driven by an 87-year-old woman from the Clayton area, turned in front of the motorcycle, the sheriff said in a press release. Unable to avoid the crash, the driver of the motorcycle struck the car.
Both the driver and passenger of the motorcycle were taken to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. Webb, who was driving the motorcycle, has since died, according to an updated press release from the county sheriff's office Monday morning. The release did not provide an update to Webb's wife's condition.
