Fort Myers, FL : Deputy in the hospital after crash in Fort Myers on Tuesday, 1st August 2023

A deputy-involved crash caused a major back-up on a roadway in Fort Myers.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 5 a.m., Tuesday, at Colonial Boulevard and the I-75 southbound on-ramp.

The sheriff said the deputy is being treated at a local hospital.

At some point, the entire intersection was shutdown and eastbound Colonial was shutdown, but all lanes have since re-opened.
