Marshall, MO : 5 injured in Sunday crash on Sunday, September 24th 2017
A two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon, Sept. 24, resulted in five people seeking medical treatment.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the incident occurred on state Highway 41 near 275th Road when a 1994 GMC — driven by Tate Malter, 16, of Marshall — failed to yield to a 1999 Ford Explorer — driven by Kati Rader, 34, of Sweet Springs. The GMC reportedly struck the Explorer, causing the second vehicle to travel off the road and into an embankment.
None of the parties involved were wearing safety devices, except for Malter, according to the report. He was also reportedly the only party uninjured. His 7-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Other reported injuries included Rader, who refused an ambulance and was transported by private vehicle to a hospital for moderate injuries. Her passengers sustained minor injuries: David Ehret, 40, of Bloomfield, Iowa; Dakota Ehret, 15, of Sweet Springs; and a 6-year-old from Sweet Springs. All were taken by private vehicle to the hospital.
MSHP was assisted at the scene by Saline County Sheriff’s Department, Marshall Fire Department and Saline County Ambulance District.
