Orlando, FL : 26-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash in Orange County on Friday morning, April 22, 2016

A motorcyclist died in a crash on Dean Road in Orlando on Friday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. and involved a 2009 two-door Nissan and a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle.

According to troopers, the Nissan, driven by Christina Varela, 24, of Orlando turned left onto Dean Road from Jay Blanchard Trail into the path of the northbound motorcycle.

The motorcycle's rider, Juan Calvo, 26, of Orlando, tried to take evasive action, but he and his bike struck the left side of the Nissan. Calvo was declared dead at the scene, troopers said.

Charges are pending, and the crash remains under investigation.
