CHARLESTON, IL : A two-vehicle accident on Decker Springs Road on Thursday, August 31, 2017

Both drivers were hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident on Decker Springs Road north of Charleston on Thursday evening.

Both drivers apparently failed to stop at the intersection at County Road 1200N about three miles north of Charleston and collided at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Coles County Sheriff's Office.

The release said one of the drivers, Jason L. Bailey, 41, of Charleston, who was driving a van, was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, after the accident.

Bailey was listed in critical condition there on Friday, according to a Carle representative.

The other driver, Cody W. Cole, 31, of Charleston, who was driving a pickup truck, was taken to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, according to the release.

SBLHC doesn't release patient condition information and the news release said the type of Cole's injuries weren't known.
