Rindge , MA : 70- Years old women was injured after she ejected from her car at Route 119 on Monday night , december 7th 2014

A Massachusetts woman suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries when she was partially ejected from her car in a two-vehicle crash Monday night on Route 119. The 70-year-old was taken by ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass., for treatment of head and facial injuries, Rindge Police Chief Todd Muilenberg said this morning. He declined to release the woman’s name until her family is notified. He did not know if the woman was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. The woman was driving a Volvo south on Cathedral Road before she turned onto Route 119 in front of a GMC pickup truck driven by a 33-year-old Swanzey man, Muilenberg said. The woman failed to yield to the pickup truck and caused the collision, which was reported to police at about 7:40 p.m., he said. The 33-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough for treatment of a non-life-threatening chest injury, Muilenberg said. He also declined to release the man’s name, pending notification of family. Dispatchers at Southwestern N.H. District Fire Mutual Aid in Keene said a helicopter was not able to respond to Rindge to airlift the woman to the Worcester hospital because of the weather. Route 119 was closed for over an hour, and reopened about 9:10 p.m., according to dispatchers.
