Huntersville, NC : Driver injured in a car crash at Interstate 77 on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016

Troopers believe alcohol played a factor in a Huntersville crash that sent a driver to the hospital early Wednesday morning.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. on Interstate 77 northbound, not far from Gilead Road.

We're told a driver hit an abandoned car. The driver went to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.

There's no word on charges.
