Houston, TX : Woman critically injured in car wreck in northeast Houston on Saturday, July 16, 2016

A woman was critically injured in a single-car accident overnight when she crashed into a pole in northeast Houston.

The collision, which wrapped her white Toyota Avalon around a post, happened in the 9300 block of North Wayside near Tidwell.

Multiple units from the Houston Fire Department and the Houston Police Department responded to the scene.
"Both sets of jaws" from a fire rescue truck and ladder truck were required to extract the driver from the extensively damaged vehicle, HFD District Chief Eric Hutzley said.
