Westlake, TX : Motorcyclist killed in Cedar Park crash on Sunday October 9 2016

A man was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon in Cedar Park, police said.

The crash happened at the corner of Anderson Mill Road and Zappa Drive about 3:50 p.m. Sunday. Police said that a man in his late 20s was on a white motorcycle going north on Anderson Mill Road at a high rate of speed and crashed into a rock in a grassy medium.

Police said that the man apparently wasn’t familiar with the motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The stretch of road that the man was killed on has a posted speed limit of 45 miles per hour. There is a curve in the road around the location where the man crashed.

Police will not release the name of the man until his family is notified.
