A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash involving a truck Saturday afternoon.

Titusville police said a 71-year-old man was driving a truck southbound on South Washington Avenue when he made a U-turn to head northbound.

The driver struck a man on a motorcycle when he failed to remain in a single lane during the turn into the northbound lanes, according to police.

Authorities said the motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, had to be airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police have not released the name of the victim.

The crash is under investigation by the Titusville Police Department.
