A vehicle crashed into a house on Indiana Avenue on the East Side at approximately 6:12 p.m. Thursday.
According to Fairmont Police, a Honda crashed into 1002 Indiana Ave., breaking through the structure leaving a hole near the front door.
“The passenger said the driver took the curve too fast,”?Josh?Riffle, a patrolman with the Fairmont Police Department, said on scene. “There was a tennant inside, but he seems to only have minor scratches.”
The accident involved a driver and passenger, with an individual in the home at the time of the crash. There were no serious injuries recorded, according to Riffle, and he believed the accident was caused by a medical condition.
“The driver’s husband said she was hit by a car in the ‘80s and has experienced seizures ever since,”?Riffle said. “Looking at her now, I seriously doubt there was any alcohol involved.”
Along with the Fairmont Police, the Marion County Rescue Squad and the Fairmont Fire Department also responded to the scene.
