Macon, GA : One dead after single-car crash on US 41 in Houston County on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2016

A person was killed in a single-car crash on U.S. 41 Tuesday afternoon in Houston County.

Houston County Sheriff’s Capt. Ronnie Harlowe said the driver of a vehicle was traveling southbound when the crash occurred. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene near North Houston Lake Boulevard just after 4:30 p.m.

The highway was closed to traffic near Avondale Mill Road in Bibb County about two hours after the fatality.

The name of the crash victim was withheld pending family notification.
