Paradise,CA : Paradise man dies in head-on collision on July, Sunday 16th 2017

A midday car crash resulted in the death of a Paradise man after his vehicle reportedly veered into oncoming traffic on Skyway and collided head-on with another car.

According to a press release from the Paradise Police Department, 57-year-old Robert Speed was driving his blue Ford southbound on Skyway around 2:15 p.m. Sunday when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the center lane and collided with 22-year-old Jena Daley in front of the Italian Garden Restaurant and Lounge.

Daley, who was driving a silver Kia, sustained injuries from the crash and was taken to a local hospital, where she is expected to recover.

According to the Paradise Police Department, Speed was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene. Skyway was closed between Oliver and Maxwell Drive for almost three hours after the collision. It’s unknown if drugs and alcohol were a factor, police said.
