NELSON COUNTY, VA : Bedford man killed in Nelson County crash on Saturday, 11th May 2024

Virginia State Police have released the name of a man killed in a crash Friday in Nelson County.

Harry B. Bare II, 63 of Bedford, died at the scene after being thrown from the wreckage, according to police.

The crash happened May 10, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. on Piedmont Road. Police say Bare was driving a Honda CR-V northbound on Piedmont Road, near its intersection with Galilee Road, when he crossed the center line, ran off the road to the left, hit a tree and overturned.

Police say Bare was not wearing a seatbelt.
