A 30-year-old Jacksonville man has died after his car was hit Monday morning by a wrong-way driver on North Main Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Robert Creech was driving a Toyota Echo north on Main Street near Setzer Road just before 2:40 a.m. when a Ford F-150 pickup truck appeared, headed the wrong way in his lane, the Highway Patrol said. The pickup, driven by 27-year-old Joshua David Mintz, hit Creech’s compact car almost head-on, the Highway Patrol said.

Creech was dead at the scene, while Mintz was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with minor injuries, the Highway Patrol said. Alcohol was involved in the crash, which remains under investigation, the Highway Patrol reported.
