Lehi, UT : UHP looking for driver in fatal Lehi crash Thursday morning on July 10, 2014
Troopers are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a deadly crash early Thursday morning near Lehi.
Sgt. Todd Royce with Utah Highway Patrol said that the accident occurred at 1:18 a.m. on southbound I-15 near mile post 285, just south of the Salt Lake/Utah County line.
“A 1997 Nissan Altima crossed several lanes and was driving erratically,” Royce said. “The driver lost control and struck a parked semi on the right shoulder. The car rolled. One male was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The other male is in serious but not life-threatening condition and was transported to Intermountain Medical Center.”
Royce said that there were reports of a third person, the driver, who fled the scene.
“We are trying to determine who that person is and if that person exists,” Royce said.
Police are still investigating and are trying to determine the identity of the fatal victim.
Royce said that troopers suspect impairment, mainly because of erratic driving and the calls that were received through dispatch.
