Shawnee, OK : A Konawa man has died in a crash in Pontotoc County on Tuesday, July 25, 2017

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a Konawa man has died in a crash in Pontotoc County.

A 2017 Kia Sedona driven by Harold M. Martin, 83, of Konawa, was eastbound on the Chickasaw Turnpike approaching the stop sign at SH 1 when he reportedly failed to yield and the vehicle entered the interesction, the patrol said.

A 2010 Freightliner driven by Rickey J. Brouillette, 51, of Alexandria, Louisiana, swerved left, crossed the center line and struck the vehicle, the OHP reported.

Martin died at the scene while his passenger, Donna J. Martin, 73, Konawa, went by AirEvac to OU Medical Center in serious condition from head and trunk injuries.

Brouillette was transported to Mercy Hospital in Ada by Mercy EMS in stable condition with arm injuries. Seat belts were equipped and in use by all.
