LEXINGTON PARK, MD : Sheriff identifies pedestrian struck, killed by deputy on Sunday, 30th October 2016

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office has identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a sheriff’s deputy in Lexington Park.

The office said in a news release Monday that 30-year-old Elder Amiclar Lucedro Moran of Lexington Park died after he was hit early Sunday on Chancellors Run Road.

Police say Sgt. Keith Moritz was driving south on Chancellors Run Road when Moran entered the roadway.

The crash is under investigation.
