HOWLAND, ME : Moose collision kills Maine woman on July, Saturday 8th 2017
A woman has died after a collision with a moose on Interstate 95 last weekend.
Maya Linnell, 23, of Fort Kent, was being treated for severe head injuries at Maine Medical Center, Maine State Police said.
Linnell was driving on the highway early Saturday morning when she hit a bull moose, police said.
The impact tore the roof off her car, police said. Two other vehicles also hit the moose, which died. Those drivers received minor injuries.
No other information was released.
Linnell's family has planned a memorial gathering at the Fort Kent Senior Center on Saturday, July 22.
