Gadsden, AL : Southside woman arrested in DUI charge after a four-car crash on Wednesday night, June 17, 2015
A Southside woman was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a four-car crash Wednesday night at the eastbound ramp from Albert Rains Boulevard onto Meighan Boulevard.
The 52-year-old woman was driving on Albert Rains Boulevard about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Gadsden police report, and never slowed as she approached vehicles stopped at a red light in the northbound lane.
The Toyota 4-Runner she was driving hit a 2011 Ford driven by a Gadsden man and knocked it into the median. The 4-Runner kept going and hit a 1998 Toyota Tacoma driven by a Gadsden man, causing his vehicle to hit a 1997 Lincoln Town Car in the rear, then cross the median and the southbound lanes.
The driver of the Toyota Tacoma reportedly suffered serious injures and was taken to a Birmingham hospital.
The Southside woman remains in jail on $1,000 bond.
