KANSAS CITY, MO : 1 dead in motorcycle crash on northbound Interstate 35 at I-635 in Merriam on Monday, 11th March 2024

One person died in a motorcycle crash on northbound Interstate 35 at Interstate 635 in Merriam, authorities said.

Emergency crews responded to the scene about 8:56 p.m.

Witnesses reported that the motorcyclist was driving at a high speed on I-35, before losing control of the vehicle and leaving the roadway down a slope, per the Overland Park Police Department. The motorcyclist and vehicle went airborne and struck a tree.

The driver, identified as 26-year-old Jeffrey M. Jaques, of Kansas City, Missouri, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
