Northfield, MN : Two people were injured in an early morning fatal crash at Interstate 35 On Saturday, July 2nd, 2016

An Owatonna man was injured early Saturday in a fatal crash on Interstate 35 in Rice County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Buick Regal driven by Callista Boe, 22, of Minneapolis, lost control while traveling southbound near exit 69 and struck the median guard cable around 12:43 a.m.

Boe reportedly got out of her car and was struck and killed by a passing Toyota Camry driven by Faisal Aden, 28, of Albert Lea.

Jason Erhardt, 35, of Owatonna, was one of Boe's passengers and suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. The other passenger, Vincent Laforgia, 29, of Owatonna, had no apparent injuries.

Aden also suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was transported to Northfield hospital.

The Northfield Police Department and Rice County Sheriff's Office assisted the Minnesota State Patrol at the scene.
