An 18-year-old woman died Saturday after the car she was driving crashed into a tractor-trailer on Illinois 185 in Montgomery County.
Payge Donaldson of Ramsey was pronounced dead at Hillsboro Hospital following the crash, which happened at 3:08 p.m.
Illinois State Police said Donaldson's car was leaving the Indian Springs Golf Course and pulled out onto Illinois 185 into the path of the westbound truck driven by
Eric Wehrle, 40, of Vandalia. Police said Wehrle was unable to avoid hitting the car.
Illinois 185 was closed until about 11 p.m. as police investigated.
