BRIDGEPORT, CT : Man gets suspended term in fatal CT crash on Tuesday, 19th November, 2019
A West Haven man who collided head-on with a motorcyclist in Monroe, killing the rider and seriously injuring his wife who was riding on the back, was given a suspended sentence Tuesday.
Lamenting that nothing he did would bring back the victim, Dan Falls of New Milford, Superior Court Judge Kevin Doyle agreed to sentence 60-year-old Louis Maiorino to the plea bargain of a six-month suspended term, followed by two years’ probation.
During the emotional hearing, Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Stephanie Damiani told the judge that, despite an intensive investigation by police and her office, they were unable to come up with an explanation for why Maiorino crossed the yellow line on Route 25 and crashed into Falls.
