FRANKLIN, PA : Driver was killed when the car he was driving struck a utility pole and rolled onto its roof on May, Monday 1st 2017

A Venango County man was killed Monday when the car he was driving in Cranberry Township struck a utility pole and rolled onto its roof.

Harold Burke, 85, of Emlenton, was driving a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country north on Cranberry Rockland Road around 1 p.m. when the vehicle veered off the road for an unknown reason, state police said.

The car sheered off a utility pole before rolling onto its roof. Burke was pronounced dead at the scene by the Venango County coroner, state police said.

A passenger in the car, 81-year-old Joanne Burke of Emlenton, was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.
