Lake Elsinore, CA : Los Angeles motorcyclist dies in Ortega Highway collision on Saturday, 18th January, 2020

A motorcyclist died Saturday, Jan. 18, in a collision at the base of Ortega Highway in Lake Elsinore, the California Highway Patrol said.

Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau officials reported the rider who died was Freeman Chen, a 32-year-old man from Los Angeles.

The crash happened just before 1 p.m. on Highway 74 between Grand Avenue and the border of the Cleveland National Forest. Witnesses said the motorcycle and a pickup collided, with the rider getting stuck under the pickup, the CHP said.

The crash closed the westbound lane in the area. Ortega Highway connects Lake Elsinore with San Juan Capistrano in Orange County.
