Man killed in crash near Sloan Nevada

A California man was killed in a crash on Interstate 15 near Sloan early Thursday morning.Nevada Highway Patrol reported the fatal crash on the southbound side of the interstate just before 3 a.m.

According to Nevada Trooper Jeremie Elliot, a silver pickup truck was traveling northbound on the highway when it jumped the median and ended up in the southbound lanes. There, the vehicle rolled over, causing the driver to be thrown, Elliot said.
NHP said the driver, who was identified as 29-year-old Arturo Nerey, of Bloomington, CA, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Elliot said investigators believe Nerey was driving recklessly when the crash happened.Nerey was not wearing a seat belt, Elliot said.
