A 23-year-old man was struck and killed while walking along Interstate 44 in St. Louis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Matthew B. Hagood of Pacific, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident Saturday morning.

The patrol says the car drove off the edge of the roadway and hit Hagood, who was walking along the shoulder of the road.
