Lakeview man killed on I-94 crash

A Lakeview man is dead following a car crash March 10 on the Bishop Ford (I-94) expressway on the South Side.

Marek Mielenkiewicz, 48, was involved in a crash while he was travelling northbound on I-94 near 111th Street, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Mielenkiewicz, of the 400 block of West Aldine Avenue, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 8:08 p.m. Wednesday, the medical examiner's office said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

Illinois State Police confirmed the crash, but did not provide additional details early Thursday.
