Olympia, WA : Woman hit by car in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood on Thursday, January 26th 2017
A woman walking in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood was seriously injured Thursday when she was struck by a car.
Seattle police report that the woman was hit at 7 a.m. while crossing Northeast 65th Street at Roosevelt Way Northeast.
According to police, a Volkswagen GTI heading west on 65th Street struck the woman, who suffered serious leg injuries. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center, a part of UW Medicine, for treatment.
The driver stopped following the crash and was examined by police. In a statement, a police department spokesman said the woman did not appear to be impaired.
The streets surrounding the intersection were closed for several hours during the investigation, but have since reopened. The investigation is ongoing.
