Colorado Springs, CO : Stolen-car chase in Colorado Springs results in 4-vehicle crash on Monday night, Nov 2, 2015
Colorado Springs, Colorado
A high-speed chase Monday night ended in a four-car crash in east Colorado Springs, police said.
Two people in the suspect vehicle were detained and one was arrested on an unrelated charge, police said. But officers did not find the driver, who was one of several people seen fleeing the scene, police said.
The chase started after the owner of a stolen car "elected to follow the vehicle" to the area of North Union Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway and relayed information to police dispatch, police said.
Officers arrived and attempted to pull over the car near North Union Boulevard and Arcadia Street, but the driver "then took off from officers at a high rate of speed," police said in a report.
Police said the "brief pursuit" ended in the 1800 block of North Union, where officers saw the multi-car crash.
Part of the road was closed for several hours as police investigated the scene.
