Car hit a tree in Chesterfield killed one person

A man died after he lost control of a car he was driving and hit a tree in Chesterfield County late Friday night.

Bryant Fitzgerald Jones Jr., of the 3900 block of Lawnwood Drive, was traveling east on Lawnwood Drive near Daleshire Drive when the crash occurred about 11:45 p.m.
He lost control of the vehicle, which left the road and hit a tree, authorities said.

Jones was taken to VCU Medical Center, where he died.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
