MADERA COUNTY, CA : Deadly hit and run in Madera County under investigation by California Highway Patrol on Monday, 4th September 2023

California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly hit and run out of Madera County.

Officers say around 8:43 p.m. an off-duty Madera County Deputy found a white male 65 years old near Avenue 15 east of Tozer Street badly hurt on the side of the road.

The deputy called EMS and the man was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

According to CHP, the pedestrian was walking on the east shoulder of Tozer Street and crossing the Avenue 15 intersection.
