DORSET, VT : Woman tries to cash in on dead person's paycheck on Tuesday, 20th September 2016

A Dorset woman is accused of trying to pay her rent with a dead man's paycheck.

Emily Gillis, 36, faces a slew of charges. Police say her boyfriend, Trever Hoag, gave Gillis an August paycheck issued to Kerry Hoag one day after Kerry was killed in a car crash. Kerry and Trever Hoag are brothers.

Gillis allegedly tried to cash the check and when that didn't work, she gave it to her landlord.

Gillis is due in court Tuesday. Trever Hoag also faces charges.
