Wapato, WA : 27-year-old Toppenish man killed, another injured in Deadly crash outside of Wapato on Wednesday, February 4, 2015

Washington State Patrol reports that a 27-year-old Toppenish man died after failing to stop at an intersection on Lateral A Rd. and McDonald Rd five miles southwest of Wapato.

WSP says that on Wednesday, Feb. 4 his vehicle collided with 19-year-old Estephanie Lopez-Pena’s car who was injured during the crash.

The deceased will be identified after his next of kin is notified. The man was driving westbound on McDonald Rd. when his 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier hit Lopez-Pena in her 2010 Subaru.

Lopez-Pena was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Cause of the accident is still under investigation.
