PAULS VALLEY, OK : 16-year-old dies after wreck on Garvin County road on Wednesday, 19th October 2016

A 16-year-old boy died after a wreck on a Garvin County road, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

About 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, a 15-year-old boy, whose name was not released, was driving a sport utility vehicle on a Garvin County road, about 1.4 miles north of Pauls Valley, when the SUV left the road and struck a tree, troopers said.

A 16-year-old passenger, who was not identified, was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he died from his injuries on Wednesday. The driver of the vehicle was treated for his injuries and released, the patrol reported.

Seat belts were not in use by the driver or passenger, troopers said.
