One Woman dead Accident in South Guntersville Alabama
One woman is dead and another critically injured in an accident at Hobbs and Redstone roads, police said.
Huntsville police spokesman Harry Hobbs said a Toyota Prius, driven by Terri Madak, 57, of Guntersville, was headed west on Hobbs Road when Madak lost control in a curve, hitting a median shortly before 7 a.m. Hobbs said Madak was traveling at a high rate of speed and went airborne after hitting the curb.
The Prius hit the top of a Honda Accord, driven by Patricia McKee, 46, of Huntsville. McKee was stopped at a yield sign at the Redstone Road intersection, Hobbs said. The Prius landed nearby on its top after taking the roof off of the Accord.
Hobbs said Madak was pronounced dead at the scene, and McKee was transported to Huntsville Hospital with head injuries in critical condition.
