LEHIGH ACRES, FL : One dead after being hit by car in Immokalee on Monday, January, 29th 2018

One person is dead after being struck by a car in Immokalee on Monday morning.

The pedestrian that was killed has been identified as José Antonio Ambrocio.

According to witnesses, Ambrocio was not walking through a crosswalk at West Main Street and South 2nd Street when he was hit by a silver SUV.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes of West Main Street. Investigators said those lanes will remain closed for quite some time.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
