West Palm Beach, FL : Stuart man dies in Christmas crash in residential neighborhood on Sunday, December 25th 2016

A 20-year-old Stuart man died early Christmas morning and a passenger was critically injured in a one-car crash in a residential area south of Martin County Airport at Witham Field, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The driver of the 2005 Nissan Maxima, Sergio Galarza, was killed. His passenger, Guillermo Jaramillo, 26, of Stuart, was rushed to Lawnwood Medical Center.

Galarza was driving eastbound on Southeast Hawthorne Street at Southeast Evergreen Avenue just before 5 a.m. Sunday when he lost control, hit a tree and spun into a second tree, troopers said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
