Greenfield, WI : Pedestrian hit by car in Milwaukee County on Tuesday night, December 22, 2015

An 81-year-old woman was hit by a car Tuesday night in Greenfield, police said.

Officers responded to the scene at 6:13 p.m., finding the pedestrian had suffered serious injury.

Police said the woman was walking across North Coldspring Road just west of 76th Street. The driver made a left turn from a Pick 'n Save store exit onto Coldspring Road. The pedestrian crossed Coldspring in an area that is not designated as a pedestrian crossing

She was taken to Froedtert Hospital.

The driver stayed on scene and his cooperating with an investigation into the accident's cause. According to the Greenfield Police Department, speed and impairment don't seem to be contributing factors.
