Portland, OR : Car crashes into pole, affecting Eastside MAX service Tuesday morning, October 14, 2014
MAX riders were expected to experience delays until Tuesday afternoon after a car crashed into a power pole at E. 122nd, TriMet said.
A man in a speeding car crashed into the pole, pulled a car seat - possibly containing a baby - out of the vehicle and then ran off, a witness said.
The man was driving a 1998 Buick Park Avenue.
TriMet sent shuttle busses to provide service between the Gateway Transit Center and E. 148th.
The Blue Line was shut down through the area for at least four hours. There were service disruptions all through the day and night. At about 10:15 p.m. TriMet said service had been restored but riders should expect delays through the end of service for the day.
