IRVINE, KY : One dead in fatal Estill collision on KY 82 (Spout Springs Rd) in Estill County on Wednesday, 20th November, 2019

The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is investigating a fatal collision that occurred just after 7:00 this morning on KY 82 (Spout Springs Rd) in Estill County.

The initial investigation indicates that a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on Spout Springs Rd, when the driver lost control of the vehicle in a curve. According to a KSP release, the vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a 2006 Dodge Caravan, operated by Justin Carson, 34, Irvine, who was traveling north.

As a result of the collision, Justin Carson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Estill County Coroner. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the release notes.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Trooper Neal Barnes. He was assisted on scene by KSP personnel, Estill County Sheriff's Office, Estill County Fire & EMS, Estill County Coroner's Office, Estill County Road Department, Hargett Fire Department, Powell County Sheriff's Office and the Powell County Fire Department.
