Henderson teen struck, killed in crosswalk
A 19-year-old Henderson woman was struck and killed by a car while she was trying to cross Boulder Highway in a marked crosswalk early Saturday.
Henderson police said the driver of the car, Ricky Bonilla, 26, was driving a 1995 Toyota Avalon southbound on Boulder Highway near Corn Street around 2:10 a.m. when he struck a woman crossing Boulder Highway in a marked crosswalk.
The woman died at the scene. Family and friends identified her as 19-year-old Hannah Quinn.Bonilla was arrested for driving on a revoked license, according to police.
Police said Bonilla's license was revoked for a previous driving while intoxicated conviction and he was driving during the revocation period.
Bonilla voluntarily submitted to blood testing, but he did not appear to be under the influence of either drugs or alcohol. A preliminary investigation indicated that speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash.The crash remains under investigation.
In a statement about Hannah Quinn, mother Lacey Quinn said, "My daughter was beautiful, artistic and talented. She had a wonderful way with children. She loved kids and they loved her. Hannah always brought a smile to everyone's face."
