West Palm Beach, FL : One person is in custody and three others were transported to a local hospital on Thursday, November, 23rd 2017
One person is in custody and three others were transported to a local hospital after a vehicle plunged into a canal near PGA Boulevard and Florida’s Turnpike early Thursday morning.
Palm Beach Gardens police responded to a Gardens Lake neighborhood around 2 a.m. after there was a report of auto burglaries.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle from fleeing as it traveled westbound on PGA Boulevard, but they lost sight of the car as it approached the turnpike, according to spokesman Maj. Ed Guillen.
The vehicle lost control and hit a guard-rail before crashing into the canal. Three people were transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, said FHP spokesman Mark Wysocky.
A fourth person, who was missing after the car was pulled from the water, was found hiding in the bushes. He was also transported to a hospital, said Guillen.
All ramps to the Turnpike from PGA Boulevard were closed for a few hours as police cleared the scene and investigated the incident.
