WICHITA, KS : Man critically hurt in southeast Wichita crash on Monday, 7th October 2024

A 56-year-old man has died after his car crashed in to a tree in southeast Wichita on Monday, police say.

It happened at around 12:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of South Dellrose, which is just west of Mt. Vernon and Oliver. Wichita Police Department spokesperson Andrew Ford said it was reported that the driver was heading east on Mt. Vernon when his Chevy Corvette left the roadway, hit a curb and then a tree in the front yard of a home.

EMS and fire personnel arrived to find the driver unresponsive. He was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Police have not released his name.
