Fredericktown, MO : One injured in single-car crash in Madison County on Wednesday morning, April 5, 2017

An Ironton woman was injured Wednesday morning when the car she was driving struck a tree off Highway 72, four miles east of Fredericktown in Madison County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 9:40 a.m. wreck occurred when a westbound 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Betty L. Burrows, 66, of Ironton, failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the right side of the roadway, struck the tree and overturned.

Burrows was transported by ambulance to Madison Medical Center in Fredericktown where she was treated for moderate injuries.

She was reportedly wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
