A tractor-trailer crashed into the woods and an SUV overturned after a collision on Interstate 95 south in Chesterfield County Friday morning.
At approximately, 10:56 a.m., Virginia State Police responded to the crash at southbound I-95 at the 56-mile marker, two miles south of Woods Edge Road.
“The trooper’s preliminary investigation reveals that a Buick SUV was traveling southbound I-95 in the right lane of travel and struck debris in the roadway forcing the SUV to lose control,” said a state police spokesperson. “The SUV then struck a tractor-trailer traveling southbound. The SUV overturned and the tractor-trailer veered off-road right into the woods.”
Police say the crash caused the tractor-trailer to sustain a fuel leak.
