Richland, WA : Motorcyclist killed in wreck with Richland school bus on Van Giesen Street on Monday evening, November 14, 2016

A 59-year-old Kennewick man was killed Monday evening when a Richland school bus turned in front of his motorcycle on Van Giesen Street in Richland.

Douglas A. Walters was riding a purple 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east. And the Richland School District bus driven by James Fleming, 46, of Richland, was headed west. Fleming started to make a left turn and crossed in front of Walters about 4 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.

One student was on the bus but neither Fleming nor the child were hurt.

Initial WSP reports show Fleming failed to yield the right of way. Charges are pending.
